>SUBJECT: Reports from CLM
A flood of good news from the Core Lander module. Let me rustle through the old mailbag and see what catches the eye...
Firstly, it seems that the planet isn't a lethal deathtrap. Analysis of the air reveals no widespread hostile microorganisms. Medical has developed a wide-spectrum defense against Serendipitous airborn bacteria. It is recommended that Level 1 sterilisation procedures be followed, but the landing party can safely move from spacesuits to shirtsleeves.
Robot scouts have been deployed and searched the surrounding area. The snow worms appear to only live in the southern reaches of this tundra region - to the north, the scouts observed the poondogs hunting a previously unknown creature that resembles a Terran lemming. One of the scouts also observed a large wriggling mass of worms all in one place, possibly feeding or some some sort of mass spawning. (What is this emotion you call 'ick'?)
Deploymnet of the CLM's factories is ahead of schedule. The bioplastic foundry is producing shelter materials already, and a small and nameless village is springing up around the lander. The first greenhouses and experimental farms are under construction, and Science teams are thawing the ground to see how Terran plants cope with the local soil.
A shuttle landing pad is also complete, and the shuttles are ready to fly. Due to the loss of Tank 6 during aerobraking, we need to be careful about how many shuttle trips we fly.
Initial shuttle trips should be
