Now We Are Here, Feedback
Now that the game has started up again on a semi-regular, once-a-week-ish basis, I thought* I'd get some feedback from the continuing players. What working for you, what isn't, what would you like to see more of, what sort of timeframe do you want from the game etc. Comment away.

*: ok, not actually my thought originally

So far I'm loving this game. I would love to see some more team transmissions, but I know they mean a huge increase of work for you, so don't even think about it :-P.

I am enjoying this as well.

In relation to the polls I do find they fall into a basic pattern of:
- 1 to 3 reasonable, perhaps slightly cautious options
- the remainder being radical, ultraconservative or "meh" options.

The fate of the entire colony being in the balance, I think people are being more cautious in their responses than they might be otherwise, seg. in a conventional RPG.

Of course the wording of the polls has an effect as well, in providing bias to or against certain options. I don't know the technical details though.

This is probably inevitable groupthink given the format and the number of respondents I spose.

I have to agree with this. I'm trying to play things bold, but sometimes considering what's at stake there's only one logical choice.

One huge upside to this format of game is that it enables "the busy people", who might have difficulty committing to a scheduled time for a game.

I've not done much role-playing myself, so, this internetty format gives me the time to consider what my character would do in a situation as opposed to what I would do. Maybe this is not hugely important, but it's a nice and gentle introduction for people like me.

I think the polls are "useful but confusing at times". They are really wonderful for making a player feel involved with minimal commitment, but they do lack some kind of subtle specifics in some cases, I think. I'm guessing that, as the GM, you are taking this all into consideration.

This leads me into the next difficulty I've had with NWAH; I'm not sure what the "boundaries" are. I sort of feel like we could do with some kind of background to the game structure that would let us know how much we can decide and when. What are the limits of our characters, to what degree can we bring role-playing into it vs just "choosing options", how much do our comments affect the state of the (nation) colony.

I may have expressed all such opinions already to you :)
I'm really really enjoying it - and thank you.

Am feeling slightly disconnected. In fact cannot remember what section of the crew I am in. Is there a FAQ or a story so far anywhere to go to for quick reminders of what has gone before?

I've lovin' the game - though my irrational aversion to setting up an LJ account prevents me from contributing to the polls.

As for poll options - moral dilemmas are always good. I'm sure you'll manage to arrange a few for us.

Also - without introducing too many restrictions to play, might it be possible to get a bit more background as to the motivations and beliefs of AESIR and "our" side of the war? I mean, obviously we're the good guys, but what does "good" mean (broadly) for us as a group?

P.
